I was lookinng for the perfect floral spring dress & I couldn’t find one… So of course, I decided to sew one! I created a princess line dress with a slight flare skirt. I used patterns I drafted a few years ago. The patterns needed some modifications to fit my specific measurements but other than that, the drafting process was very easy!
If you are not familar with drafting your own patterns, Vogue Pattern V9202 is a very similar pattern to my dress. In this pattern, you can also find detailed sewing instructions if needed.

If you decide to make this dress, the construction is rather simple. You can draft your own pattern or buy a premade pattern that is similar. The most difficult thing about the construction was being very concise when cutting the fabric. Any discrepancy between the floral mesh & the pink crepe back satin would have caused pulling. In my opinion, the key to any great design is the quality of construction (hello perfectionist Haley)!
This mini flare dress pattern has so many possibilities for reuse. I am so excited to try this pattern in different fabrications in the future!
